The Kannada cinema has lost a very charming icon Dr.Vishnuvardhana who was household name of Karnataka. At the age of 59 Dr Vishnuvardhana of 200 films died of heart attack on 30th Wednesday early morning at 2.30 am when he was moved to Vikram Hospital in Mysore. He was moved to Bangalore in the morning. Body was kept at National College grounds. Two persons committed suicide many vehicles were damaged. Karnataka government sanctioned 2 acres of land and Rs.10 crore for Dr Vishnuvardhana memorial.

Among the other tops who left us are veterans R Lakshman, Chandulal Jain and RN Mandre were some of them.


Lost three personalities in third week of January 2009 - It started with Raju Ananthaswamy and a few days later producer of ‘Sacha’ Madesh died of brain hemorrhage and now the news on Saturday is that eminent character artist Bharat Bagavathar died of brain hemorrhage in a hospital in Bangalore.

‘SACHA’ PRODUCER MADESH PASSES AWAY

He was really a ‘Saacha’ (trustworthy). Humble, helping and honoring the elders, learned was in his nature! That is S.Madesh the producer of ‘Sacha’ Kannada film who died on account of brain hemorrhage on Thursday at Sagar Appolo Hospital in Bangalore. He was just 35 years.


BAGAVATAR DIES OF BRAIN HEMORRHAGE

One of the prominent supporting actor on big and small screen Bharat Bagavathar son of Honnappa Bagavathar the legend of yesteryears died on Saturday on account of brain hemorrhage in Bangalore. The 50 years Bharat Bagavathar leaves behind two daughters Laxmi and Megasri. Megasri is Kannada film and television actress.


THE PILLAR DEPARTS – LAKSHMAN NO MORE

The Kannada cinema industry’s ‘Pillar of Brain’ R.Lakshman the producer of ‘Bangaradha Manushya’ the biggest grosser and maximum of 110 weeks run film – a record in the history of Kannada cinema – died on Saturday night at 8.50 pm. Effervescent in Kannada and English language the former SIFCC and KFCC President R.Lakshman aged 82 years was suffering from ill health and complication in passing urine put him on bed maximum of time.


KISHORE SARJA DEPARTS AT 50

The 50 years old Kishore Sarja well known director of Kannada cinema and brother of top Tamil actor Arjun Sarja died of heart attack at Manipal Hospital on Saturday morning around 8 am. Arjun was in town when the death news of his brother was announced by the doctors.

MAINA CHANDRU DEPARTS!

An efficient actor in theatre, small screen and big screen Maina Chandru died of jaundice on Thursday afternoon in Bangalore private hospital. The black complexioned rotund build Maina Chandru has left behind his wife Shoba and son Mithra.

R.N.MANDRE PASSES AWAY

One of the pillars of filmdom in Karnataka attached mainly to exhibition, production and distribution of non Kannada films R.N.Mandre died on Friday after a prolonged illness. He was 78 years.

The humble producer of over 35 Kannada films Chandulal Jain breathed his last today morning at 9.45 am. He was 74. He leaves behind his wife Leela, sons Rajakumar and Rohit. The old horse in the Kannada filmdom Chandulal Jain produced films like Thaayi Devaru, Boothaiahna Maga Ayyu, Thabbaliyu Niaadhe Magane, Hemavathi, Praya Praya Praya, Bettele Seve, Idhu Sadhya in 48 hours, Bhaktha Siriyala, Veerappan, Gangavva Gangamaayi and on last January 21 when entered 74 announced a Kannada film ‘Videshi’.

Stuntman actor and producer Circus Boranna died on Thursday morning in Bangalore. He was 74.
