The permanent chief minister of Karnataka is none other than ‘Mukhyamantri Chandru’. That is because of his famous stage play ‘Mukhyamantri’. The 50th golden jubilee of Kalagangotri has been staged over 740 times and 14 chief ministers of Karnataka in the past have watched this stage play.
Now it is time for rehashing the hold script of this play. Dr KY Narayanaswamy, learned professor has written the new script to suit the present scenario and to the occasion of 75th year of Indian Independence.
This is ‘Maththe Mukhyamantri’ – it is directed by Dr BV Rajaram and the first show will be on 4th of April at Ravindra Kalakshetra.
Chandrasekhar alias Mukyamantri Chandru recounted 40 years of his stint with this stage play and how it was translated from Hindi and said the new one ‘Maththe Mukyamantri’ will have manifold issues and might lead to controversy. Let us see what happens when it is open to the public, he says.
Many actors have been part of this ‘Mukyamantri’ but veteran multi talented Srinivasa Meshtru remained throughout Chandru. In the new version also he will be taking up a pivotal role.
