One of the leading distributors of non-Kannada films, producer of a few Kannada films Kuppuswamy died on Tuesday night and he was suffering from diabetic disease.
Kuppuswamy with over four and half decades in this cinema field suffered chicken pox at an early age, had vision problems and was paralysed to one of the hands sustained it and led a glorious early life.
He peddled cycles in younger days to sell newspapers and entered Tamil film distributor in Karnataka in1972; So far, he had distributed 600 other language films. He earned good affection of Super Good Films RB Chaudhary and continued his innings for a long time.
He was executive producer of ‘O Nanna Nalle’, Indra of Darshan, Sai of Sudeep and ‘Punda’ starring Yogish he associated with. His film ‘Veera Ranachandi’ starring Ragini Dwivedi is yet to be released.
Ullas theatre he maintained for quite some time. Later Devi theatre in Srirampura he started coordinating. Besides Shivaji Ganeshan, MGR, Rajanikanth, Kamal Haasan films, Kuppuswamy distributed over 30 films of Ilaya Thalapathi Vijay.
Kuppuswamy leaves behind two sons – Dakshin Murthy is a dentist and Prashanth is a graduate supporting the business. Vijayakumari is his wife.
