Posted date: 9/August/2008

Yet another controversial film of director Ravi Srivatsa ‘Maadesha’ starring hat trick hero Shivarajakumar locked in the censor battle has been cleared with ‘A’ certificate by regional censor chief Chandrasekhar on Saturday evening.

What was suggested as difficult to give certificate by the censor board in Bangalore was altered on the advice and for some of the portions Shivarajakumar dubbed yesterday. ‘No one is above the law’ the censor board members argued and LG Productions accepted it. Accordingly it made necessary changes in the action, violence and climax scenes of ‘Madesha’ Kannada film.

Now the film is all set for release in the next week. It may be recalled on last Thursday afternoon at the muhurut of ‘Hodimaga’ actor Shivarajakumar spoke about the attitude of characters that are kept in the film ought to do like that in the end. We have not anything in bad perception and there are no people in the world who ape the cinema completely. A lot of good things that are told are also not taken in to account he disclosed. With an exception to my father’s films in the 60’s to 2000 not many films made a social change Shivarajakumar preferred to add in his address.

Previously Shivarajakumar’s ‘Santha’ was also in the censor trouble. But the fact remains that Ravi Srivatsa’s all the previous films ‘Deadly Soma, ‘Ganda Hendathi and a boy friend’ and Rajeev…Gandhi Alla were in censor trouble.

‘Maadesha’ produced by Goverdhana Murthy has GSV Seetharam cinematography, Mano Murthy’s music. This film is made at whopping cost of Rs.7 crores says the industry sources.

Now the film ‘Maadesha’ has to turn really ‘A’ class film at the box office and save the coffers of the producer Goverdhana Murthy. Shivarajakumar, Ravi Belegere, Ravi Kaale and others are in the lead roles.
