The punter of box office in South Indian cinema spread out in Indian cinema too super star Rajanikanth gets the right honour of Dadasaheb Phalke award – the highest award of Indian cinema.

With roots from Karnataka especially Bengaluru (once a bus conductor in 12B route) Shivaji Rao Gaekwad hails from Marathi community and his home language was Kannada. Apparently after icon of Kannada cinema Dr Rajakumar and VK Murthy for cinematography Rajanikanth could be considered as 3rd Kannadiga to receive this honour.

Now very strong and popular in Tamil cinema industry Rajanikanth is a role model for so many in so many issues that are good to the society.

Rajanikanth acted in 11 Kannada films and he acted in black and white era. It was K Balachander who took him to Tamil cinema and the growth and strength of Rajanikanth is impeccable today.

This is the 51st Dadasaheb Phalke award announced by union minister of information Prakash Javedkar.

Rajanikanth is considered as ‘Thalaiva’ in Tamil cinema industry and his growth in the last four decades is immeasurable. The congratulation messages are pouring in for ‘Thalaiva’ Rajanikanth right from Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi.
