The dynamic star veteran actor of four decades in tinsel town Devaraj plays a prominent role that relates to the slavery system. It is based on Kum Veerabhadrappa novel ‘Uda’. Sebastin David is in his 13th film as director for producers Smt Kanthalakshmi and Ramesh Babu.

Apparently a film on slavery (Jeetha Paddathi) based on Kum Veerabhadrappa novel was made as ‘Dore’ starring Dr Shivarajakumar, Dr Bharathi Vishnuvardhana, Hema Panchamukhi and others in 1995. This subject also talked about the slavery system prevalent in the society.

Interesting part is that this Slavery is mixed with lot of humor says director Sebastin David. The improvised subject brought in mind veteran Devaraj says David. In Channapatna, Mysuru and Mandya, shooting is planned by the director. Another veteran actress Umasri is also in a prominent role.

Accepting a kind of offbeat or parallel cinema gives me happiness. I did ‘Hebbat Ramakka’ a few years ago. The moment I was told it is based on a Kum Vee novel I invited for discussion stated veteran actor Devaraj. A person tucked in slavery system how he protects his ‘Maana’ is crux of this film. It is humorously narrated, says Devaraj. I look for breaking the monotonous roles and this film has my ‘Vesha and Bhashe’ differently, adds Devaraj.

Noted producer K Manju was present to bless the team at the muhurat of ‘Maana’ at Sri Renukamba Digital theatre.
