What is ‘Groofi’? You have heard of ‘Selfi’ – when taken in a group it is ‘Groofie’ – coining such words are common lately.

The music director of ‘Groofie’ Vijeth Krishna dedicated his compositions to century film music composer Arjun Janya at a crowded gathering at Sri Chamundesware Studio in Bengalore. Arjun Janya present to bless the team released audio songs.

The songs are melodious and pleasant to watch. I have been a long time friend of ‘Groofie’ music director Vijeth Krishna and director Ravi Arjun. Twenty years ago my journey commenced in this Chamundesware Studio with V Manoharji. My friend`s first film album was released as a coincidence. Let the producers make unexpected returns from this film. Groofi, according to Arjun Janya, is ‘Proud’.

‘Groofi’ is a suspense thriller. When a photo is taken in a group is ‘Groofi’ – the subject has relevance to this title. We are also giving a good message from this film. In Bengaluru, Honnavara, Madikeri and Western ghats traveling in 50 days, the shoot was completed, says debutant director Ravi Arjun.

The protagonist of the film Aryan is in the photographer role and he is confident of good appreciation for the film. Padmasri Jain, the female protagonist is ‘Selfi’ centered in the film. She is fond of social media and likes and comments are her lookout.

Vijeth Krishna besides writing songs, sung a few and composed too. He was excited with Arjun Janya, his mentor coming and releasing his first film album.

Producer KG Swamy immensely liked the subject narrated to him. He has plans for release of the film for this Varamahalakshmi festival day in over 120 screens.

Gagan, Uma Mayoori, Prajwal, Sandhya, Sridhar, Hanumanthe Gowda, Sangeetha, Rajanikanth and others are in the cast.

Jayanth Kaikini, Hrudaya Shiva, Chetan Kumar, Ravi Arjun penned the songs sung by Santosh Venki, Manasa Holla, Anirudh Shastri, Vijeth Krishna and Raksha.
