Another director arrived at the action fold. That is S Mahesh Kumar of ‘Ayogya’ fame. He gives all requirements of a commercial film. Producer Umapathy Srinivas Gowda`s lavish film ‘Madagaja’ is interesting for its action and sentiment in a huge canvas.

The rudimentary style of melodrama is not missing in this between Rathnamma and Surya but the high score should be given to the action feast, lavish sets, grand locations, dialogues and like in all action extravaganzas the good wins over the evil in a long drawn out battle.

Chandramouli dialogues for hero and villains besides for the father character, heroine Pallavi, Rangayana Raghu character is simply superb. For all action lovers this is a New Year eve feast.

There are two gangs – one led by Jagapathi Babu and the other Anil Kumar.  Jagapathi Babu inevitably takes violence to his hands to give land and water to his people. Veerabhadra gang is opposite to this people`s friendly factor. In the war of two gangs, the just born child of Jagapathi Babu and his wife Rathnamma (Devayani) is shifted to Varanasi. A dasayya (Rangayana Raghu) gives him life and grows him as a strong pillar to take on anyone.

The post interval filled with family drama and the villains of mind for ultimate is easily understandable. The legacy of Jagapathi Babu continues after another fierce battle for survival and peace.

It is tailor made for the image of action hero Roaring star Sri Murali. The action, dance and sentiment in serene looks are admirable. Another action movie to the kitty of Sri Murali is impeccable. The costumes from Vidya Murali for this film is also a high point for Surya character Sri Murali in the film.

Ashika Ranganath as village belle is a treat to watch. She has punching dialogues too. Devayani as mother is OK. Jagapathi Babu looks dull at places. The local actors in father and son roles = Anil Kumar and Garuda Ram bombarded in their capacity.

The sidekicks of Shivaraj KR Pete, Chikkanna and Dharmanna are stress busters. There are two lovely songs one especially on mother plus the sound background score from Ravi Basrur is in top gear.

Dialogue writer Chandramouli, editing by Harish Komme, cinematography by Naveen Kumar are the other three top scorers in the film.

A breezy action film is ‘Madagaja’ – visit this one for action feast.
