Benki is not just a brother and sister sentiment but action takes major share while the entire film is shot in the village backdrop.
AR Shaan son of well known director AR Babu comes to direction and his first film is catered to the family audience. Like his father, Shaan has some sensitive thoughts in his mind.
He is ‘Benki’ feared by detractors – that is protagonist Aniish Thejeshwar. He has a fond sister and is ready to do anything for the happiness of his sister. This is perfect ‘Anna Thangi’ but tragedy in life strikes.
On the day of his sister, Benki finds that she is dead. The emotions dipped Benki becomes very violent on knowing the cause behind his sister passing away.
The first half moves with easy watch and the bond of brother and sister is established. In this sentiment portion AR Shaan director reminds his father of the late director Late AR Babu. The romance part and the commercial formula follows in the second half of the film as ‘Benki’ from sentiment saga moves to the action saga to take revenge on miscreants.
Aniish Thejeshwar the popular hero after ‘Ramarjuna’ shines in action and sentiment portions. For the first time he is in a village backdrop film. Shruthi Patil as sister to Aniish and Hulivana Sampada as female lead understood the role very well and performed with ease.
The music is average and cinematography captured some difficult moments for screen.
