Off late commercial films have started making entries to the OTT platform directly! It was ‘Bhinna’ in October 2018 that took an entry to the OTT platform. Later a few of PRK banner films got entry directly to the OTT platform instead of theatrical release. There were films made at the Corona Pandemic time that also had director OTT releases.

Is this OTT going to be the future of entertainment? Such questions arise in mind in the wake of theater audiences cutting down drastically.

It is the turn of popular hero Ninasam Satish and well known Shradda Srinath starrer ‘Dear Vikram’ (earlier it was Godhra). It is directly screening in Voot Select on June 30 onwards.

Speaking at the pre release meet of Dear Vikram Cluster head of Colors Kannada said a honest effort is put in for the film and changing the title ‘Godhra’ we are releasing from 30 June. In the coming days Voot Select will have web series and in the pipeline there are a few big films. What is the percentage of people that watch ‘Dear Vikram’ on Voot platform? Parameshwar says it will be known after release and as of now we have one third of the total viewers of the OTT platform.

On the five years journey of this film actor Ninasam Satish agreed that situations compelled the team to select the Voot for screening instead of theatrical release. I have a few more films in the pipeline that may come on the OTT platform. It is Corona`s time that made us change our calculations, he says. The film ‘Dear Vikram’ has different shades. Vasishta Simha and Achyuth Kumar appear in other shades. For me as an actor and activist this film is very important. I have grown up from such a background. There is nothing like left or right wing in this film. Voot offered a good amount and the team is happy with it, Ninasam Satish added.

Although I first heard the subject in 2017, the excitement and enthusiasm about this film has not gone down. The team has put in blood, sweat and tears into this film, says Shradda Srinath, female protagonist in the film.
