KFCC HONORED NATIONAL AWARD WINNERS

The Apex Body of Kannada film industry Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce invited the 68th National film award winners of Kannada and Tulu films besides the documentary winner Padmasri Dr Girish Kasaravalli to extend honor for the merit earned.

Only Pawan Wodeyar and wife Apeksha producers of ‘Dollu’, debut director Sagar Puraneek, Praveen Krupakar and his wife Dr Hemalatha director and producers of best environment film ‘Thale Danda’ present to receive the honor made by KFCC on Monday afternoon.

Ba Ma Harish President KFCC, Jai Jagadish, Shilpa Srinivas, former KFCC President SA Chinne Gowda and others from Kannada film industry were present to honor the winners.

Noted director turned debut producer Pawan Wodeyar made a pertinent appeal to make way for such films screening ala the reservation style so that it reaches the audiences. He also said he would release the film ‘Dollu’ and he knows that it might incur losses to him.

Praveen Krupakar director of ‘Thale Danda’ agreed to the point mentioned by Pawan Wodeyar of availability of theaters to award winning films. He also appealed to the KFCC President Ba Ma Harish to keep the name of national award winning actor Sanchari Vijay to one of the areas in Bengaluru. Ba Ma Harish stated that he is in the process of such work to pay respect to Sanchari Vijay.

68 NATIONAL FILM AWARDS GOOD SCORING

The 68 National film awards announced on Friday evening at 4 pm have brought cheers to Kannada Nadu because of various categories awards are coming to it.

The ‘Sorarai Potru’ Tamil film that bagged a few awards at the national level has Karnataka connection because the film is based on the biography of Captain Gopinath who heralded a new system in airlines in the past.

Pushkar Films Pushkar Mallikarjunaiah for his first Malayalam film production Thinkalazcha Nishchayam (Engagement is on Monday) in the direction of Prasanna Sathyanath Hegde gets Rajat Kamal and Rs.1 lakh award money.

Among others toppers in Kannada ‘Dollu’ produced by Wodeyaar Films (maiden production) gets the best film award to director Sagar Puranik son of Suneel Puranik and this is also debut direction. The same Dollu bagged another award for location sound design.

Thale Danda, the last film of national award winning actor Sanchari Vijay in the direction of Krupakar gets the best environment film.

The genius in film making Padmasri Dr Girish Kasaravalli gets the national crown for his documentary ‘Naadada Navaneetha – Dr PT Venkateshkumar produced by department of Information and Public relations, Government of Karnataka and it is Rs.50000 and Rajat Kamal and it is best Art and Culture category.

Jeetige – adjudged best Tulu regional cinema makes Karnataka very proud.
